![]() ![]() Aikoku Sentai Dai-Nippon - A parody of Super Sentai.Aikatsu Planet! - Aikatsu!'s only franchise that combines both anime and tokusatsu.Toku series and franchises include: Japanese Most of the examples of Toku series are actually franchises of the Sentai and Henshin Hero variety, producing many separate but related series. Far and away, the most popular early example of Toku is the Godzilla film franchise, which exemplifies many of the genre's tropes: People in Rubber Suits smashing scale model cities, and an abundance of squibs. This list also includes shows that use puppetry, like Gerry Anderson's Supermarionation series Thunderbirds and Terrahawks, and even Thomas & Friends. This means that, to the Japanese, things like Smallville, Stargate SG-1, Doctor Who, Knight Rider, Red Dwarf, or even James Bond count as Toku. While Westerners use it to refer almost exclusively to the Japanese superhero shows, in Japan it simply refers to any live-action production which makes extensive use of special effects. Like Jidaigeki or Anime, Toku is one of those terms that means slightly different things in Japan and the West. The Henshin Boom - which continued on from around the height of the initial Monster Boom - was started by the Ultra Series and Kamen Rider, and it greatly influenced how action heroes worked and its effects can still be seen today in the superhero and action-adventure genres, with that influence even percolating westward. The Monster Boom was started by Godzilla and famously saw the rise of many daikaiju pictures in the film industry. The film ends with Hiroki vowing to Sayuri that they will start their relationship anew.Tokusatsu had two major periods, dubbed the "Monster Boom" and the "Henshin Boom". Flying back, Hiroki fires the missile, destroying the Tower and stopping the matter transformation. In the last few minutes of her coma, Sayuri realizes that when she awakes she will lose all her memories of her dreams of the past 3 years, and thus upon waking she weeps because, unknowingly, she lost the memory of her love for Hiroki. When Sayuri finally awakens while the plane circles the Tower, the Tower activates and immediately begins to transform the surrounding area the area under transformation grows to encompass much of Hokkaido. Hiroki manages to fly the plane across the strait to the Tower carrying Sayuri and a missile provided by the Uilta Liberation Front. The plane only seats two, so Takuya allows Hiroki to pilot the plane and fulfill their childhood promise. ![]()
